Date night wishlist!

Hiiiii girlies and guys! So this week’s post is about things I wanna do on mine and the hubs date nights. Saying that we don’t get to have date nights very often because as many of you mommas and papas know, its hard to get a babysitter! Although when I get a Wednesday off we like to have a date day which is really nice – last time we went to Miller and Carters in the Mailbox and it was immense!

The first place that comes to mind is – Wagamama’s

Since I got with the hubs, what I eat has certainly changed. All I ever used to eat was plain chicken and noodles, maybe some hotdogs or the occasional chicken korma; that’s about it. Now I try pretty much ANYTHING and I love japanese food and I am dying to try the Katsu Chicken Curry. YUM YUM. The whole menu actually looks phenomenal & I cannot wait to give everything a try – perfect for a date day lunch!

Next on my list is – a spa day

I have been on 3 spa days this year but I always go with my best friend. I would love to have a nice relaxing day with Ad and I think he could really do with it too. Nothing beats a nice massage and a steam room – I think I will make this a valentine’s date – in Chelsea, London. (My favourite place)

Thirdly is – comedy night

Me and Ad have always been unsure as to whether we would enjoy a comedy night, we’ve always decided on something else. But Ad’s brother went on a date at the Glee Club in Birmingham and he said it was brilliant; it’s also not a bad price either. So I think I will add this to the list for a date night so we can go and have a boogey afterwards.

So here are my next few things I would like to do with hubs; leave a comment with your fave date nights or any suggestions. Thank youuuu, Love Soph xox

My Beauty Wishlist – October 2017

Good morning girls & guys! Oh myyyyy, am I glad its Friday. YES! As if I have managed to publish 2 posts within a week, I am getting my groove back. So I have been inspired by my look fantastic beauty box to tell you all about my beauty wishlist for October 2017 – oh the excitement. Here are a few things that I have seen over the past few months that I have fallen in love with and now MUST have!

Ciaté London Wonderwand Mascara

This is top of my list because I have fallen head over heels for it! I received this in my October look fantastic beauty box and I could not believe my lashes when I had used it. I have tried quite a few mascaras, volume ones, lash extended ones – all sorts, but they never seem to make my eyelashes wow. Thanks to Ciaté my eyelashes look so much longer, I absolutely love them. So when my trial mascara runs out I will for sure be buying this.

Elemis skin care products

I have had a few facials over past months and I have been dying get my hands on some of the elemis skin care products which Bannatynes use when I have a facial. The spa therapist recommended that I moisturise daily and exfoliate and mask once a week so this will be my new skin routine.

Tooth whitening products

I have seen so many different recommendations for tooth whitening products I don’t know where to start. I saw someone tweeted about Eucryl and how good she thought it was, it is also very cheap so I thought I would start with this and see how I get on. I have also saw a lot of charcoal based toothpastes/polishes going around so wouldn’t mind giving something like that a try if the eucryl doesn’t do the job!

Maybelline Tattoo Brow

Oh my giddy gosh, I got so excited when I saw this advertised. I am very new to the ‘brow’ scene but I literally cant go a day without putting my browns on. I love getting them tinted and I cannot wait to give this a try; will probably get the sister to do it for me as I am pretty useless.

Nip & Fab Tummy Fix

Since I am trying to lose weight I think I need something go tighten the skin and smooth it out. I have been using bio-oil but that doesn’t seem to be doing much and tbh I am willing to give pretty much anything a try to make my stomach look more acceptable.

So here is my Beauty Wishlist for October – I would love it if you would leave a comment if you have any other beauty recommendations. That would be much appreciated.

Love Soph xox

My Fashion Wishlist

Hi hunnies, So autumn is coming and I am in need of a whole new wardrobe. I am pretty sure that whenever I have cash there is nothing in any store that I want, but when I am broke as hell, clothes are flying out the shops screaming buy me! I absolutely love the autumn/winter period, I like to be able to wrap up with layers, without sweating to death!

Here’s my fashion wishlist:

Knitwear: Who doesn’t love a big comfy jumper eh? For me they have to be of a longer length else I just keep pulling at them, whether they are worn with leggings or jeans.

Tshirts: I am in love with the whole t shirt tucked in jeans outfits. Although I usually end up untucking the t-shirt because I like to hide my stomach. & as you can see, anything with a bit of french on I am a sucker for.

Footwear: I love all sorts of different footwear, I am not very girly and I am usually in a pair of trainers. I like to try and buy the occasional nice ‘shoe’; like the backless loafers, I have fallen in love with those and could buy a million pairs. But I don’t think they will do me for the winter so it will have to be boots and trainers.

Favourite outfit ideas: Anyone else love looking at outfits on pinterest and then get really annoyed when you buy the clothes and look nothing like the absolute babe in the picture?

Thank you for reading; If you have a fashion wishlist or related blog post please tag me I would love to read!

Healthkick – week 1

So here I am at the end of my first week and to be honest I feel like a sack of crap. This week has not gone as well as I wanted it to.

Monday – First day and really excited. Monday went very well, I have started using MyFitnessPal app to count my calories and exercise, this has set my goal at 1200 calories. I ate really healthily and strangely wasn’t starving all day. I did 25 squats/ 25 sit ups and 15 minutes of Scarlett’s Super Slim Me DVD. I felt great.

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday – these days also went very well; I resisted buying snacks and bought fruit instead. I was feeling fuller for longer and continued to exercise. I found a video on YouTube which does a hiit session, easy to follow and worked me super hard. It felt great. Today the OH wanted hot dogs on rolls for dinner – I was good and declined the rolls, I’m not much of a bread person anyway.

Friday – This day went not so well; there was a little party at work with buffet food and I forgot my lunch so I scoffed my fat face. And boy did I feel super crap about it afterwards. I also did no exercise as I didn’t get home till 9pm and was flat out.

Saturday – woke up feeling pumped, did my workout session which is beginning to get easier and was feeling super positive. But when my OH is at home I find it super hard to eat well; simply because he does the cooking and I don’t want to dictate to him what he’s eating. I haven’t really snacked but my dinner wasn’t the healthiest.

Sunday – well what can I say besides, awful! I snacked, had a shite dinner and then followed it with ben and jerrys icecream. And also, no exercise. I’m feeling mighty guilty and feel like I’ve let myself down.

So Monday is here and I haven’t weighed myself (my scales at home are broke) this is probably a god send because I certainly don’t feel like I would’ve lost anything. I will update the post when I have been weighed.

Here’s to what hopefully will be a great week and I can finally feel good about myself!

See you next Monday,

Love Soph xox

The Liebster Award

Last week, I was nominated for the Liebster award by Madelaine, at  http://madelaineblogs.com– Please have a nosey at her blog. When I was nominated by Madelaine I didn’t have a clue what the Liebster Award was;  the Liebster award welcomes to new bloggers to the community and gives them some motivation. Bloggers then answer the 11 questions given to them by their nominator, and then create 11 new questions for their nominees. So here goes…

1. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because after Olly was born I felt like I didn’t have anything for myself. I wanted to be Soph again and not just mom. I thought blogging would give me something to focus on, a hobby I guess.

2. What made you pick your blog name?

Well, its simple really, I love a glass of Sparkling Rosé. I wanted something different and didn’t want to use my name.

3. If you could have 1 power for 24 hours, what would it be and why?

I would like to be able to fly. I don’t drive and quite frankly I’m sick of getting the bus to work everyday.

4. What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?

I love to spend my weekends in London. I would like a nice spa day and to enjoy some nice seafood with the OH. & take Olly to London Zoo.

5. What’s the most annoying question people ask you?

How old is he? I hate this question because I never know whether to say “18 months” or “1 & a half”. It drives me up the wall, apparently a lot of people hate it when parents say their child’s age in months.

6. What’s something that loads of people are obsessed with but you don’t really get the point of?

GAME OF THRONES. Like I just don’t know. I have never seen it, have no interest in seeing it, yet its all over my feed. What is the obsession?

7. What’s the best thing that happened to you last week?

I had three days off work, so this pleased me muchly. Not to mention it was curry club at the local. Easily pleased I am. A pint and a curry for £5, ya can’t go wrong!!

8. If you could say 1 thing to your 13 year old self, what would it be?

You DO NOT want to work with children, no matter how much you think you do now, you will change your mind and you will have wasted 2 years doing gaining a qualification you won’t even use.

9. If you won the lottery, how would you spend it?

Easy, I would buy us a proper family home. I hate renting, I think its such a waste of money; but unfortunately our credit won’t enable us to have a mortgage.

10. How would your friends describe you?

So I asked around and they said; Organised, head strong, hardworking and loyal. & a few other things I won’t mention. ha.

11. What can travel around the world, while staying in a corner?

It’s a stamp! (It is bad that I googled it?)

I have also been nominated since by

So now you know a little more about me; it’s time for me to get to know you. Here are my nominations;

  1. Chloe from When in Fiji
  2. Tia from Youmenaturally
  3. Alice from Victolilly
  4. Claire from Serendipitywriting
  5. Amanda from Lookattheravens
  6. Almira from The Little Black Rose
  7. Hayley from Hsaysblog
  8. Charlotte from CharlotteeWhitsey
  9. Hannah from TheLondonGeek
  10. Frances from FrancesLouise
  11. Kathryn from StandStillandLookPretty

Here are your 11 questions:

  1. Why did you start blogging?
  2. What did you want to be when you were younger?
  3. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
  4. What would you spend your last £1 on?
  5. If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
  6. If you were on the news, what would it be for?
  7. If your best friend had to describe you in one word, what would it be?
  8. Whats your favourite food?
  9. Love or money?
  10. Where was your best holiday ever?
  11. What is the best thing to happen to you this year?

Thank you for reading

The healthkick starts here – day one!

Here we are, day one of the ‘healthkick’ I refuse to use the word diet because everytime I do, I fail. I am starting this healthkick at 12 stone 6 lbs; at 5’2 with a hefty BMI of 31.8 – I am OBESE! I am a 16 / occasionally a 14. I don’t want to be ‘thin’ and I certainly don’t want a flat stomach. I would just like to be comfortable with my body again – comfy in my clothes. I would like to get back to 10 stone and size 12.

Here’s the backstory of my weight journey. When I was a 18 – like most I was unhappy with my weight. Even though I was a healthy 9 stone 4 lbs; I felt a lot bigger than I actually was – I was a size 10 or an 8 with a squeeze! As I often did to fit in my best friends clothes. My weight then started to go up with all the takeaways and alcohol; but before I went on my last holiday with the girls in 2013 I was finally happy with my body and weight at 10 stone 4 lbs a healthy size 12. & then I met my OH and it all went down the pan.

We went out for food, A LOT! I drank lots of alcohol and many many a takeaway. Plus he can cook so I was eating a lot more than a bowl of noodles a day. I got to the biggest I had ever been at 11 stone 4 lbs – size 14. I was really unhappy with my size; feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. & then I found out I was pregnant; of course we were happy and I no longer thought about my weight!

When I went for my first appt with the midwife I was 11 stone 4lbs. The day I got home from hospital after having Olly I was 11 stone 4lbs. So for me that was a big achievement; especially after the amount of kebabs I had eaten. I even got back into a size 12. & then the vicious cycle started again, I started stuffing my face thinking it wouldn’t make a difference, thinking I was invincible. I went from a 34E to a 38G – I thought my boobs were massive before, but that is just ridiculous. Then the weight crept on – I went to slimming world at 11 stone 8 lbs and managed to get down to 10 stone 13 lbs. This made me very happy so I stopped going, silly me, because again the weight hit me like a ton of bricks.

So here I am 12 stone 6 lbs; finding myself tell the doctor “I’ve just had a baby” when he tells me I’ve put on too much weight; he brings me back down to earth with a shock – “that’s not baby weight anymore” deep down I knew that of course but I couldn’t face facts.

I am ready for a change; ready to get back in those size 12 jeans and finally feel happy. So here goes! Look out for how my week has gone next Monday.

Bank holiday in Nottingham

As some of you may know I spent bank holiday weekend in Nottingham. Myself & the OH had been to Nottingham a few years ago, before we had Olly and we really enjoyed it. We spent a short time in Nottingham as we had actually come to see Ellie Goulding at Motorpoint Arena so we thought we would have more of a nosey about this time. In all honesty, Nottingham was second choice as we were supposed to be going to my beloved London, but couldn’t afford it this time so we decided on Nottingham instead.

While making the travel arrangements I always look for the cheapest way to travel and found it was cheaper to go by megabus and come home by train. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from megabus, at £5 each I certainly wasn’t expecting much; but it was fabbbbbbb! Nice comfy bus, with plug sockets – very handy! The bus wasn’t very busy either so we have a nice peaceful journey; I was really pleased.

Again when searching for a hotel, I like to look for a bargain; I wanted to stay where we stayed on our last stay in Nottingham, at the beautiful Lace Market Hotel but it was farrrr to expensive for our budget weekend. So I used the trusty booking.com to search for somewhere cheap, this is where I come across the Park Plaza Hotel Nottingham at a bargain price of £55 – I was very happy with this; from the pictures the hotel looked lush and it was right in the centre of town so I booked straight away.

We arrived at the hotel at 9am; I have never not been able to check in early but as it was bank holiday weekend I shouldn’t have been surprised to be told our room was not available. So we left our luggage and went off to wonder around Nottingham. So, anyone who knows myself & the OH, knows we love a pub, specifically a wetherspoons. Literally a minute walk from the hotel was the Roebuck Inn, I couldn’t believe my luck. Turns out there are quite a few wetherspoons and of course, we pondered around them all; I am sure all we do when we go away is crawl round pubs and restaurants.

We were right in the centre and at the Old Market Square was the Nottingham Beach which had a padding pool, funfair rides & a beach bar. It was very very busy, of course not only being a weekend, but bank holiday weekend. We had a stroll around the shops and I enjoyed an ice cream from the van; I can’t pass an ice cream van without getting one – 99 in a waffle cone with a flake and blue sauce please! Everytime I go somewhere different I always search for a TK Maxx or a Homesense, I am literally obsessed. Nottingham has a great TK Maxx over 3 floors; I loved having a nosey and they had so much lushhhhh stuff, but I just couldn’t manage it all home on the train!

We went to check in at 2pm and this was the only point I was disappointed with the hotel; when checking in the receptionist stated we must pay a £25 deposit – now I know that does not sound a lot but on a budget weekend every little counts. I was not made aware of this deposit and the receptionist tried to argue with me that this was in the policy. So I decided to show him the policies as stated on booking.com and my confirmation email; boy did I make him eat his words, he apologised to me and we were not charged the deposit. We then went up to our room and I was really impressed – this room was more than worth £55. I was most excited about the fact we had Sky Sports for free & it was Super Sunday so I was able to watch some football. But the room was absolutely lush; nicely decorated, nice big wardrobe, beautiful bathroom with free Elemis toiletries and most importantly a comfy bed.

While noseying around the shops we passed Turtle Bay; now, we’ve never been before simply because I cannot handle anything remotely spicy, so I always avoid it. My poor OH always ends up eating wherever I choose, so I thought for once we would have dinner somewhere he would enjoy. So we booked a table for early evening, when it was 2for1 cocktails too & we were both looking forward to it. Now let me just tell ya, I’m more of a chicken korma and a Strongbow kind of girl. When we arrived we were greeted by a very lovely gentleman who kindly showed us to our table and gave us some menus. Little did he know we’d already read the menu umteen times and decided what we were having. The restaurant was busy but yet not too loud – the atmosphere was perfect. & the decor, well, I could’ve taken sooooo many pictures it was so instagram worthy. Our food came super-quick and the presentation was immense; my mouth was watering just looking at the food, & let me tell you it did not disappoint, it was gorgeous; cooked to perfection. Yes it was spicy and I had about 3 cups of water but the taste, oh myyyyy, I really enjoyed it. We both had one pots – I had curry shrimp, king prawn and mango (left) & the OH had curry goat (right). The only thing that let me down were the drinks, they took ages to come and the cocktail wasn’t very nice, I’m not a cocktail person anyway but it tasted like pure syrup; safe to say I left my cocktails – what a waste of £7.50.

After Turtle Bay we headed back to the Roebuck Inn and stayed there all night to have drinks – now I’m pretty sure my OH would have preferred to have been in a club somewhere but that is not my kinda night; not with my fella anyway. I cannot dance and was not dressed for the occasion. Wetherspoons has became my favourite place to drink for one reason and one reason only – Teresa Rizzi Sparkling Rosé! It is only £10.99 for the bottle and it is super pretty. I consumed two of those bottles and believe me I had a sore head the next morning. Luckily we didn’t have to check out until 12pm.

So that was my bank holiday weekend in Nottingham – nothing too exciting but we were away from home and child-free so I wasn’t complaining – only about the amount my feet hurt in my new shoes – but lets not talk about that!

Thank you for reading, Love Soph xox

Beauty wishlist – August 2017

So here I am, new to this ‘beauty’ thing. I usually just throw up my hair into a mum bun, wack on a bit of bronzer and away I go. But since I decided to start blogging I have seen many beautiful girls using all these different products and I decided I would start giving it ago.

Also not to mention the fact I am sick to death of looking the same everrrrryday and not even ‘trying’ to look half decent for the OH. I bet he’s sick of the sight of this bun!

Here are a few items that I have seen recently that are on my wishlist;

Le mini macaron gel manicure kit

Is this not the cutest thing, everrr! I hardly ever have the time (or the cash) to get my nails done these days and his would be the perfect solution. I am in love with the Rose crime colour, I think it’s so feminine. The 1 step gel polish saves so much time & time isn’t something I have a lot of. So this is top of my list.

Yes Saint Laurent Mon Paris Perfume

I received a tester of this little beauty in my feel unique order  & I am in love. It smells so lushhhh, its fruity but with a floral hint. Also how pretty is this bottle? I love the pretty bow and the shape of the bottle is so nice. I have added this to my Christmas list.

GHD air pink blush hairdryer

There is nothing I hate more than drying my hair, it takes sooooo long! I adore my GHD straighteners and I would love to see how good their hairdryer is. Not to mention the limited edition pink blush in support of breast cancer, its so pretty and you’re donating to a good cause.

Urban decay all nighter setting spray

I am very new to this primer business, tbh I didn’t even know it existed till recently. I was complaining to my sister that my makeup never stays on and she suggested a primer. But then, I hear of this little beauty, setting spray. Everyone is currently ranting and raving about it, hence why its on my wishlist.

So that’s my August beauty wishlist. Thank you for reading!

My Etsy Store

Now, I never really planned to mention my Etsy Store on my blog, as tbh I haven’t really done much with it. I’ve been trying to concentrate on my blog and the store has been in the background somewhere gathering dust.

But last week I got my first ever sale after being open around a month. I haven’t shared the link to my store anywhere at all so this come as a surprise to me. So I have gotten all excited about my first order and wanted to share this on my blog.

I absolutely love invitations; but for some reason you don’t see them around much anymore. Invites are done on social media a lot these days and I would like to change that. I asked my best friend about invitations for her baby shower, do you know what she said? “I think I’ll just drop everyone a text” See? It took me ages to pick out the invites for my baby shower and I was really excited about handing them out.

My love for invitations has lead to me opening an Etsy store, selling digital invitations. I haven’t done many and to be honest haven’t put much work into them but when I finally have some time on my hands, when my blog is finally up and running, I will concentrate on designing more invitations and making a proper go of my store!

I am over at https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/DreamingOfLondonCo

Has anyone else got an Etsy Store? If so I would love to know what you’re selling.

Look fantastic; unboxing! August 2017

My first ever beauty subscription has now arrived! I don’t usually use a lot of any sort of product, I’m pretty basic. Whether it be make-up or skincare products, I never have the confidence or the time to use them.
So I thought I would take the plunge and order my first box; the 2-3 days delivery seemed like a million years away. But it is here and I cannot wait to open it; I cannot wait to see all those new little products to try.

Mane ‘n Tail Shampoo & Conditioner

This smells lushhhh! I left the conditioner on over night after I dyed my hair and this has made it feel so amazing. Not dry at all and has left my hair feeling thick, rather than ratty. I had never seen this before but have since seen it in TK MAXX!

Korres Body Milk

Bergamot pear – I love this fruity smell & it’s not too over powering which I like. There is a lemon scent too which I am looking forward to trying. This made my dry skin feel nice and smooth.

Gatineau Paris Toner

I love how pretty this bottle looks, I am a sucker for a bit of pink! I have only ever used toner a few times and I’ve never liked the smell. But this, oh my life, it smells beautiful! You’re supposed to use this after using the Gatineau cleaner, but I haven’t got that. I like this toner and it leaves my face feeling fresh, I would definitely buy the full size one.

B.B Beblesh Balm

I didn’t really know what this was supposed to do. What I did find was that it was really good for my dark circles especially on a day when I am wearing minimal makeup.

Lord and Berry Brow Pencil

This is the first brow pencil that I have ever used & it was fabulous! I will definitely be purchasing this in the future. I have the brunette magic brow and the colour is perfect for me.

Lottie London Lipbalm

I have definitely saved the BEST till last. This is the most amazing lipbalm I have ever used in my life, Strawberry Shortcake, is absolutely lush! This makes my lips feel really smooth and stays on the lips for quite a while. I will certainly be needing more of these in my life.

So that’s my look fantastic box, unboxed. I cannot wait to receive my next one and tell you all what I think!

Baby names I love but wouldn’t use

Baby-names-generator

As some of you may know from a previous post, my best friend is pregnant so inevitably we have been discussing baby names; there are so many aren’t there? This post has been going around the blogging/youtuber world for some time and it’s something I am excited to blog about.

3 Baby girl names I love but wouldn’t choose:

  1. Chelsea; My sister is named Chelsea and I support Chelsea football club, so I thought this name would be perfect. The OH says I am going too far! So that’s one name off the list.
  2. Olivia; This was our first choice when we were pregnant with Olly. Olivia for a girl or Oliver for a boy. So now we have an Oliver I cannot use Olivia.
  3. Rosie; I loveeeee this name, isn’t it just the cutest? But our niece is called Rosie so we won’t be using that.

3 Baby boy names I love but wouldn’t choose:

  1. Ethan; Ever since I was 16 I wanted to use the name Ethan, but my cousin had a baby first and has named her little boy Ethan, so thats a no go.
  2. Brinley; When I was pregnant with Olly, the OH named our bump Bryn (from Gavin and Stacey) which then grew on me so I considered naming Olly, Brynn. I have since seen the name Brinley and I love it, but I am just unsure whether I would use it.
  3. Oscar; I think this name is really cute and would match with Olly nicely. “Oscar and Olly” but I just think it’s too common these days. (That’s why we call Oliver, Olly)

I would really excited to hear what baby names you love? So please leave a comment.

My home wishlist

Next year I am hoping that we will move to London, that’s my ultimate dream and I will make it happen sooner or later! I have been stalking people’s instagrams and pinterests to get some lush ideas for our new home; these are some of the items on my wish list (most will probably remain there when we move too). Sadly.

First up is a leaner mirror! Oh my gosh I haven’t had a full length mirror in years & I am unsure how I have coped without one. So that’s number one on my wish list!

A new sofa; must be fabric! We had a gorgeous sofa in our first flat, it was hugeeeee and so comfy. But when we moved into an unfurnished property all I could afford was a small faux leather sofa. So I would loveeee a nice new fabric corner sofa, I could possible even settle for a three seated. (I must be mad wanting fabric with a toddler).

A dressing table – I currently have a table which houses my mirror and make up; with no chair. I want a proper dressing table with cosy chair and lots of cute storage. I don’t know if I’m pushing it but I want a light up mirror too!

Those are the main items on my list! Below are other bits and bobs that are on my dream list! (Some more lavish than others)

img_2759
Who doesn’t want a nice deep bath?

I’ll be greedy and wish for a walk-in shower too!

img_2757
            Fluffy cushions, EVERYWHERE!

                       I also love fluffy rugs!

img_2755
            Copper / rose gold, EVERYTHING!

img_2754
                                    Why not?

img_2753
Netflix and wine in the bath!

Thanks for reading, please feel free to leave comment.

A letter to our childminder!

I am writing this post so I can share the positive experience that I have had in regards to childcare. Olly was 6 months when he started attending Saira’s childminding service and I cannot believe how fast the past year has gone.

Ollys first day
Olly’s first day at Saira’s

I know it can be so hard for parent’s to find someone who they feel comfortable leaving their little human with; but for us it was an easier decision that I thought; thanks to this amazing lady.

Dear Saira, I want to thank you for making it so easy to leave Olly in your care, and feel comfortable going to work each and every day knowing that he is perfectly safe and happy with you. When we first came to visit you, I knew from then that you would be perfect for our family and boy was I right. Olly has come on leaps and bounds, thanks to all the encouragement you give him and the time you devote to him. You do so much for us that you do not need to; but we appreciate it more than you could ever know, you really do go above and beyond. Your family are absolutely wonderful and I feel proud that Olly has the chance to grow up surrounded by such amazing role models, not just you & zee but your children too; they are a credit to you. You have all now become a part of our extended family and as you know that is all I wanted for Olly, for him to be somewhere he is loved. Yes, I want him to learn and develop but above all I want him to be somewhere he can be himself and be happy. You have children that come back to you time and time again because you do such an amazing job and I hope you do realise that. I am sure you already know we will continue to praise you and remind you how valued you are each and every day. Thank you for sharing your culture and religion with us, I am proud that Olly will grow up learning and being respectful of this. I can see why parents keep bringing their children back to your care, because you’re one in a million. Thank you for everything hunny. Love Sophie x
Eid
Celebrating Eid with Saira & her family

I am dreading when Olly goes to school and I have to remove him from Saira’s care, I am not sure who will be more heart broken, me, Olly or Saira! But luckily I have another 2 & ½ years before I have to worry about this. I wish all parents luck in finding the perfect childcare for their family.

Where is your happy place?

Does anyone have that one place that makes them feel instantly happy? I do. For me that place is London. Where the stress of work, bills and sleepless nights just melts away. Where I can sit and just be content and not want to the weekend to end.

It all started on Valentine’s weekend 2014, when the OH planned a surprise trip to Chelsea. Chelsea FC is the football team that I support and the OH had booked us a room at Millennium and Copthorne at Stamford Bridge. & it all started from there. My love for London just grew and grew.

This was our first trip to London in Feb 2014

I have lost count of the times we’ve been to London now, but each and every time the excitement is still there, the butterflies in my tummy when the train pulls into London Euston station and a smile on my face that doesn’t disappear until the journey home. It’s mad that one of the busiest cities in the world is one of the places where I feel most relaxed.

My three favourite places in London.
#1 Stamford Bridge the home of Chelsea FC
#2 Camden Market, I love street food
#3 The London Eye, the view is breathtaking

I am yet to brave taking Olly to London, simply because I don’t believe the tube is reaaalllyyy pram friendly. I see many families tackling the stairs at tube stations and I certainly don’t envy them. But now that Olly is walking a lot more I’m sure it won’t be long before he is exploring London and falling in love with it just like his momma.

One day I am hoping that we will finally be living in London that is my DREAM! So give me a year and hopefully I will have made that dream come true.

Please leave me a comment telling me your happy place ♥

Going out out!

So this week was one of my friend’s 21st birthday; this has made me feel REALLY old. My 21st feels like such a long, long time ago. (It was 4 years ago). Imagine my excitement when she asked me to go for her birthday meal; this momma goes out with the girls like, NEVER. The last time I went out with the girls was December, when my bestest came down from Manchester.

So this was my last night out, which was also my first night out after having Olly. (A year after having Olly). The pictures show how the night progressed; it doesn’t show that it ended with me spraying sick all over the street before getting a kebab! I would like to say “Oh the shame”, but I wasn’t at all ashamed!

Anyway back on topic; my friend’s birthday was a Tuesday, a work day and Olly comes back from the childminders at half 7. Could I get a babysitter? NO. Where was the other half? AT WORK. So my friend politely says “bring Olly with you”, my first thought was God no, I’m not a fan of fighting my toddler to keep him in a highchair. But I also didn’t wanna let her down; So me and Olly went out out, together & to be honest we both had an amazing time. He was absolutely golden! Note to self, don’t assume your child will always be satan when you go out. (Although he usually is) We went to a lovely indian restaurant, where myself and Olly stuffed our faces silly. Olly absolutely loves a curry, if his food ain’t got a bit of spice he ain’t eating it.

Happy 21st Birthday Uzma

The rest of the working week was absolutely hectic, lets hope this week is a little more relaxing eh. See you all next week.

My first blog post

So here we are, my first blog post! My names Sophie & I am 25 years old. I am a first time momma to a little boy named Olly. I work in mental health and it is something that I am really passionate about.

Why have I started my blog? Well, I’m not really sure, I basically just wanted something for ‘myself’, somewhere for me to just talk about life. I am still trying to get myself ‘together’ after having Olly (it’s taking a while, he’s 18 months old), so much has changed and I am still trying to come to terms with that. My life is currently a MESS.

Meet Olly! Im sure he will make regular appearances on here, because as you know our little humans are pretty much our whole lives. & I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you for reading, if anyone is! Please check in over the next week to see what craziness is happening in our lives. Feel free to share 🙂
